You may have noticed that we have been working on our website lately. Well, we installed new software and a new server to make the site run faster and more securely. The changes are all done and the whole site is running smoother. In the process we have added some improvements and new features.1) The items with multiple variations, like color and size, now have a drop down menu right beneath the large picture on the items main page. You can use this drop down menu to jump to any variation combination in one quick step.
2) You can also choose to click on "View all Variations" and you can look at a list with more information. Each entry will look like this one below. Now you can see immediately if an item is in stock or not. If it is not in stock at that moment you will see a red "Stock Alert" above the fabric color. If it is in stock it will say "Stock OK" and tell you how many are in stock. If an item is out of stock you can click on the "Info" button for more information on when to expect it in.

3) Now you can get an estimate on the shipping before checking out by clicking on the little calculator in the Shopping Cart area in the upper right-hand corner of any Renaissance Store page.4) The WishList page has been improved so that you can set up a Bridal Registry with the Bride and Groom's names or use it for Anniversaries and Birthday's. You can also use it for gifts for... yourself. When you are done choosing items for the wishlist or registry you can email it to a list of friends. That list is confidential and can not be added to any junk mailing list. Look for Wishlists in the nav bar on the website.
Bookmarks
In the same nav bar you will find a "bookmark" image for creating universal bookmarks just like the one at the end of this article. When you click on it from any page in the catalog, you can add that page to your Windows, Foxfire, or social networking bookmarks. There are many to choose from like DIGG, del.icio.us, Google Bookmarks and many more. You can access these bookmarks from any computer you like and you can share them with friends. It is a great way to save your favorite items and articles for later review.
No more session numbers!
The biggest improvement we made took the session number out of the webpage URL. Now your basket will not dissapear if you leave the site and come back. However, this means that you'll need to have your cookies on so we can identify which basket belongs to you when you return. If you plan on being away for any significant time, you will still need to save your basket. Baskets can be saved for 35 days and wishlists can be saved for 1 year or more.
